Been using realdash for a long time but the old head unit started having issues so went and got a new unit. It is an Atoto S8 and after downloading my old dash layout and xml file to try and import to realdash it is giving me a notice that the app does not have access. What is the workaround for this? I read an older 2022 post saying google did not allow for realdash to have file manager access…
You need to install a file manager. Try Amaze file manager for example.
That amaze file explorer helped I now have access.
My new issue is it appears my realdash is in a loop attempting to connect
I have a basic CAN to USB adapter
My settings are
Adapters (CAN/LIN) > CAN Analyzer > SERIAL/USB > USB 2.0 Serial > 2000000 BAUD RATE
CAN FRAME: Standard
CAN Speed: 500 kbps
CAN MODE: Normal
All i can think of is my finished.xml file isnt working? No changes to xml file since it was made late 2020.
Try the CAN Monitor first. It does not use XML file and can be used to confirm the connection.
I tried the can monitor but its the same thing unfortunately. It keeps giving me timeout connecting
Everything is good now i realized all i had to do was load a file from the garage and then i had data in the can monitor afterwards
