# Screen brightness

I have a custom gauge setup that I use a tinted image over the whole dash that makes the screen no as bright. I have found the canbus ID that is for my car interior brightness and have it mapped. Is there a way to attach it to the Image gauge that darkens the screen and make it change its fade or something?

Sure, you can use Normal-Warning-Critical level color transparency with ‘Use Dynamic Color Range’ option to make transparency transition smooth.

If the screen brightness isn’t changing as expected, I’d first check whether auto-brightness or an app-specific brightness setting is overriding it. Also try restarting the device and testing the display at both minimum and maximum brightness to see if the issue is software-related or constant.
