hello, ive decided to move away from Rpi and to a android 7870 headunit / android box. But i need to know about dual screen support in Android, is it okay? Im hopin to have a smaller 4-6in screen for media, and the large 14.3 uw for the Realdash.
Is there anything bad or impossible with that setup? Hoping it wuld allow Android auto and directions shown in RD
Edit: Ive found this, so it seems possible, but unsure how to set it up.
We use dual screens simply by sharing data between devices with Data Multicasting. Currently it works on TCP/IP connections between devices, but next release (2.5.7) will have multicasting over CAN.
Okay so as long as theres an extra HDMI output, theres support for running RD on one screen and the default / Android auto on the other screen?
im thinking like a pc with wual monitors, not 2 pc´s with single monitors
i found this: https://en.t-firefly.com/product/industry/rocrk3588spc
and the non s https://en.t-firefly.com/product/industry/rocrk3588pc
before i buy, is there support for the intergrated CAN and the CPU? Or can we work together to get support?
Unfortunately we do not have resources to test RealDash on all existing hardware, so I’m unable to tell if RealDash will work well on that device or not.
i get that, theres alot of possible combinations.
If i get the device and something is not working, will you guys help getting it running?
We try our best. If there is some hardware related issues, that would require us to buy the same device for troubleshooting. I cannot guarantee that we will be willing to do that.
Thanks, i apriciate it. *I have most items for hardware debugging so it shuld be fine.
