Accelerometer Configure?

Hello, Is it possible to make an acceloemeter work in RD with only ELM27 inputs ?
I am trying to make the new Porsche one work. Here is a picture of the RD object, and the available pids I see during set up. The GPS is also working as maps are accurate in this dash.
Thank you !!

Do you need an Accelerometer connected to make thus work ?

@realdashdev , would you have any guidance on this ? Thank you.

Your car’s display device does not have an accelerometer, so it does not work.

That is INCORRECT.
The car does have an accelerometer display in the OEM instrument cluster. I am trying to make this one work in RD via ELM device.

Does the device you use for REALDASH have an accelerometer?
Does the Elm send this information?
Does the original car dashboard use information from the ECU or does it have its own accelerometer?
The only way for this to work is if the device used for REALDASH has one, you can send this data via Multicast.
I hope this helps.

Does the device you use for REALDASH have an accelerometer? No, it is an Androif Head unit.
Does the Elm send this information? I think so…I will check if Torque app sees it.
Does the original car dashboard use information from the ECU or does it have its own accelerometer? ECU

If you can read the accelerometer values from OBD2, you can use the Settings->Units & Values->Input Mapping to map values from OBD2 into accelerometer values.

Optionally you can change the inputs of the accelerometer gauge to use OBD2 data directly.

Hello @realdashdev , I posted above the pids from my obd…I do not see accelerometer. pids… any help on this >? I do believe that Torque was seeing them on this device…

Also, how do i set the guage to use OBD2 data directly ?

edit: I have tried to fugure this out, if you could kinldy show more detail how to do this ?
Thank you !

  • In dashboard, go to edit mode and select the accelerometer gauge.
  • Go to ‘Input & Values’ and change the data source for each axis on the gauge to your custom input.

Hello @realdashdev ,
Thanks for the reply , I guess I get to the point where I can pick raw or not , but I have no clue that’s referencing the OBD ?? How do I know that ?? And how do I know it is seeing the OBD pid ? Thank you

@realdashdev , could you please provide any guidance here ?
thanks,

I have no idea what would be the custom PIDs for Porsche internal accelerometer. Also, I do not know where to get that information.

I am not looking for custom pids…but to know who to point RD to the ELM accelerometer sent signals please.

If you already know the PIDs for accelerometer values, and you have custom OBD2 XML that reads the values, then there is two ways to link those inputs to accelerometer gauge:

  1. Edit the dashboard and change the gauge inputs to your custom ones.
  2. Use Settings->Units & Values->Input Mapping to map accelerometer values from your custom ones.

@realdashdev , as stated I am using an OBD ELM Device. There are no known pids for POR…hence no .xml.

As stated I am trying to make this work via OBD. Torque, free program sees accelerometer values…and they can be utilized in their dashes. How do I point RD to the SAME signals, same car, same OBD as Torque test.
Thank you

Can you see in Torque which PID is assigned to the acceleration values? That would give hints as to where Torque is getting this information from and how it is calculated, making it easier to get it to work in RealDash.

They just show as avbailable…how do I do I assign in RD. If it is not listed ion the screen captures above…is it available ??
