Hello,
My phone updated to Security patch Oct 1, 2025 for Android 16 yesterday (One UI 8.0). Now the app is crashing shortly after starting. I’ve tried uninstalling, clearing cache, and restarting the phone. If you know of a way to pull up the debug report, I’ll submit it.
Ahhh, dear Android. Quaranteed to keep us busy.
I do have a Android 16 compatible Samsung device in testing rotation, try to update that and test.
We have found something that may be cause a crash shortly after app startup. Would you be willing to test a pre-release version? Send email to contact@realdash.net and I will provide a link for the test version.
Issue seems to be that latest Android security patches may not allow old OpenSSL implementations that are built with non-16kb alignment. That causes crash on network code when requesting current street information.
We may need to push yet another quick fix because of this.
Of course I would. I sent a reply to your email address.
The app crash was also observed on Android 15. The app crashed only when a new version was installed.
Alright, we are investigating and update as soon as possible.
The update you pushed is working for me. I haven’t reloaded my custom dash yet, but the cookie cutter dashes are working.
I spoke too soon
. Problems are back.
Maybe this is related to your custom dashboard file? Send me your .rd file for analysis: contact@realdash.net
Have you tried the 2.6.0-2 updated couple of days ago.
Do you happen to use a device called POCO M4 PRO? On Play Store crash analysis there are crashes only for that device type and only for one user.
No, I don’t.
Also, it seems to be working now. Thank you.
