Button image size and distortion issues

Hi,
I have some button images that look and function like iphone on/off toggles (with rounded corners).
There is a separate text gauge underneath as a label.

I am having a couple of issues:

  1. When I resize the buttons on my PC, sometimes the round edges get distorted, even when I lock the aspect ratio. However, when I resize round gauges I do not have this issue. What is different?
  2. When I bought this dash over to my android tablet, everything resized fine except these buttons, they totally disappeared.

Are there any “rules” I need to be following when using images with buttons? Any explanation for this behavior and how I might avoid it?

Sorry for the delay, we were on a vacation.

This may be due the ‘9-slice’ setting on the buttons. The 9-slice allows to have resolution independent rounded corners on the buttons, but depending on source image it may distort the result. Try disabling the 9-slice option for your buttons:

  • Edit mode, select button
  • Go to Look’n Feel->Special->Button
  • Adjust ‘9 Slice Edge Size’ to 0%
