Can anyone tell me if this is correct XML for RD?

I’ve been pulling my hair out for a week now trying to figure this out. I can see the canbus messages in RD but they won’t show on my dash. I believe the XML is correct but I need another set of eyes on this.

# **Channel Description File (XML)**
The RealDash CAN XML file describes how data in CAN frames are interpreted by RealDash.

XML file starts with tag **RealDashCAN** including the file format version **version="2"**. Next in file is a list of **frames**.

Specifies the **baseId** as 3200 decimal. Any id value in later **frame** is added to the base id. For example, if **frames baseId** is 3200 and it contains a frame with **id** 1, then the frame is considered to have an **id** of 3201.

oaph, That did work either. Boy am I stumped on this one. Showing all can messages scrolling, worked fine for a year and a half and then stopped. Very, very weird.

seems like something must have changed in your setup. I just took the latest dbctordxml script, used the demo dbc and tested it here with pcan. it works fine.

So I think we can say yes, the XML is correct.

So strange. Data is coming into RD just fine. Just can’t see what could of happened. The 125kbs works just fine in the dash but the 500kbs does not. 2 different 500kbs inputs for a few different things on the dash and neither work. Is there anyway the dash I created back in the day could be corrupted somehow? I don’t see how as I reinstalled the original dash again the other day.

Sorry that’s beyond my RD knowledge - I’m a total newbie here. You can see both the 500kbs feeds in the RD can monitor? - these are three different can busses right?

Yes, 3 different can bus lines, all 60 ohm, all read fine in RD and Pcan. I think it was a solar flare at this point. Even tried a different lap top. The unit in my car deciphering all this is windows 10 and the laptop is windows 10. It’s been working for a year and a half at this point. Thank you for taking a look at this.

(just in case you didn’t already try these… I’m at a loss of other ideas just now)

do the signals display in a clean new dash file? (just for talkings sake)
what happens if you use the online XML generator and map to those signals?

Yes, this did work with my original files which was great. Skippy (I named my ChatGPT5 assistant that) found a work around I was in the process of using it when I got the email saying there was an update 2.6.2 so I tried my old XML and everything started working fine. So thank you very very much.
