Citroen basalt 2025 connection

As anyone tired out connection with citroen cars ? I have been following realdash for more than 6 months now . Learning about it and other stuffs but I am still a noob .

I have Citroen basalt 2025 , but I saw someone telling obd only shows few datas . So i am trying to do the cluster with canbus .

So as a noob and don’t want to get any trouble with my car electronics and warranty.

My plan is

  1. Obd2 pigtail with 14 single wires ( Or t-tap wire direct connect to can wires ) Please suggest me the method and safest method.
  2. Connect the can h and l wires from pigtail to the waveshare usb to can adapter.
  3. Then waveshare to 12.3 inch android usb port.
  4. Load the xlm file ( I don’t know how to make it )
If any simple guide to make for citroen basalt 2025 will help me a lot in my dream cluster build .

Please let me know is this method good and safe or any other easiest method available?
Thank you .

Same i wanna make the same but for my saab

How did you connected can h and l to the android headunit or canusb ?

Step by step . Would help me clear my biggest doubt.

@realdashdev can you clear me this please.

I hear you, but there is no one and only instruction on how to use CAN connections with your car. In perfect world it should be as easy as:

  • Connect CAN adapter H and L wires to your vehicle CAN H and L wires.
  • Connect CAN adapter to device running RealDash.
  • Create CAN connection and verify in CAN Monitor that you are receiving CAN frames
  • Choose or make your own CAN description file.

Thank you .

I understand the mechanism.
(Can l and h - waveshare usb to can - then to android headunit)

But my main doubt is how can I connect the can h and l to waveshare usb to can .
I asked chatgpt for the best method it said

  1. Obd pigtail then connect the can pins 6 , 14 , gnd wires to waveshare -safest .
  2. Direct tap with can wires with t - tap connectors-little risk involved.

Can I use obd pigtail method to get the can datas then connect to waveshare? This is my main doubt which is holding back starting my project.
Can you clear me this please

If your can has CAN, you should be able to attach to it directly from your OBD2 port using pins 6 and 14:
