Combine value (e.g. altitude) and text (e.g. "m") in one field and center it

Is there a possibility to combine the value of an input, e.g. the GPS altitude, and a text, e.g. “m” as the according unit, in one field, so that I can center the whole text?

I would like to do this because I want to display the current altitude, together with the unit “m”, in the middle of a speed gauge. But “2.999 m” is broader than “99 m”…

Yes, but unfortunately this is a undocumented (<- thats funny) feature.

  • In edit mode, select your text gauge and go to Look’n Feel->Special
  • First subpage has empty edit box at the bottom of the view. Enter:
[POSTFIX= M]
