Not sure how hard this would be to implement or if it already exists. But Flashing indicator icons with adjustable MS flashing speed would be very cool and make dash more like OEM for seatbelt indicator and traction control, ect.
But,… what’s stopping you from placing two identical indicators with different blinking speeds and activating only one of them, the one you need?
What I mean is instead of the seatbelt indicator lit up… it turns off and on, like a blinker.
Can you already do that?
Sorry, but I didn’t understand the essence of the problem.
I think I might understand what you want.
Some cars, the seat belt indicator will flash slowly for a span of time, then flash faster for another span of time, then remain solid-lit if the seat belt is still not fastened
Create an image icon. You would then assign a variable to it. And then adjust the blink speed depending on warning and critical levels. On normal level your set the colors to hidden so all black or 0 opacity. I use this with a full screen overheating message.
what do you mean by adjust the blink speed?
yes exactly what I want
I haven’t played with dash design enough to know if there are timers or loop counters. I don’t think there is a code-based back end.
So one way I might handle that would be with external hardware. If you are taking analog inputs and parsing to canbus like with an arduino, I would say use c++/arduino code to tackle the fancy flashing sequence.
If there is no analog input in your car, and the seatbelt signal comes from a can system exclusively, it would have to take some clever coding using triggers I assume.
In edit mode Select your gauge, go to Look’n Feel->Special and adjust the Blink Speed option. This can be adjusted separately for normal, warning and critical levels. Editing level is changed at bottom left of the screen.
