The font size seems to change depending if there are characters below the base line. (y, j, g, etc). This makes aligning things overly complicated. (for instance, in a text gauge with the same height, text “MPG” and “Avg MPG” will have different font sizes and different baseline)
Possible solution is to add a fixed font size in the gauge edit, or just always align to the baseline.
