I am outputting data via CAN from the LINK G4X, but the speedometer, boost gauge, and fuel pressure gauge are not working. How can I fix this?
Can I change the ECU map using Real Dash? Can I also adjust the boost?
What connection method you have between RealDash and your Link ECU?
I use Seeed studio’s Can Analyzer.
All values can be viewed in the Link ECU’s software.
Have you validated you are getting CAN data in the CAN Monitor? What XML file are you using? Have you either mapped the values to RealDash targetId or mapped the gauges directly to the inputs if using names instead of targetIds?
Link ECU CAN support has two options:
- Short Datastream
- Displaylink
You have to select which CAN output to use from Link’s software and then select a correct XML file from RealDash connection settings.
Looks like it’s receiving data on the CAN monitor.
I use Short Datastream.
RPM, A/F, Water temp, and all that are showing up fine on the monitor.
I use short Datastream.
What’s the difference the two options?
RPM, A/F, water temp, and all that are showing up fine on the monitor.
Taking look at Link files:
Its clear that displaylink has a lot more info in it. For example, Fuel pressure is completely missing from short datastream, but is available on displaylink.
I’d recommend that you configure ECU to output displaylink CAN messages, switch the configuration to displaylink on RealDash connection settings and see if that is better.
Thank you.
When I use short.xml, the meter works, but when I use Displaylink.xml, it doesn’t work.
Does it require different ECU settings when using Displaylink.xml?
Yes, you need to configure your ECU to send DisplayLink data via CAN.
I don’t understand about the CAN at all, and it’s still not working. I’ll upload a photo so you can tell me what’s wrong.
I can see from the last screenshot that you have custom XML file active. Is there a reason for using custom XML? Have you tried to use the build-in file Link: DisplayLink.
The term DisplayLink confuses a bit as on Link documentation it is the same as ‘Generic Dash’.
I’m using the downloaded XML file as is. I downloaded the same XML few times,So the name has (2) .
Should I rename it to just “displaylink”?
There was no built-in file “Link: DisplayLink”.
I found “Link: Generic Dash Stream”, but it didn’t work even when I tried using it.
That is the correct one. Generic Dash Stream = DisplayLink.
If it did not work with “Link: Generic Dash Stream”, could you record a log file from CAN Monitor and send it to me: contact@realdash.net
I have sent the CAN log to you by email. I would appreciate it if you could take a look
I will try to get into this soon. I have been in fever and out of office.
