Holley Terminator X does it work?

Hi
Is it possible to hook up realdash with Holley terminator ? I can not see Holley is supported but m taking a chance to ask.I have two can bus connection on my wiring harness. One going to the small 3.5 dash and the other to an USB male connector going to a laptop. Is it possible to use an adapter going from USB male to female > Male and the into a Android tablet ? Im only interested in showing the same gauges that I get in the laptop in the Holley v3 software. Holley has a USB/BT device with gauges but its only released in US and Canada. I thought this could be something cool if it works,

regards Rob

Yes, to my knowledge many people are using RealDash with Terminator X ECU using a CAN connection.

Thats sounds great, what type of Can connection would best to use ? And is it possible to connect directly to the USB cable comming from the master harness ?

Basically any of the RealDash supported CAN adapters will work:

RealDash | Manuals | Supported CAN/LIN Adapters

We are currently mostly using SLCAN type adapters. The Waveshare and Seeedstudio styles are also popular.

Yes, it’s possible. You will need:

  • a Terminator X splitter
  • a USB to CAN converter cable for Raspberry Pi 5
  • a Raspberry Pi 5
Ask a GPT chat user for the connections

Well, most you mentioned above is actually not true, but welcome to our forum anyways.

  • No splitter required, connect CAN adapter directly to ECU CAN H and CAN L wires.
  • Raspberry Pi 5 is not a requirement, any device running RealDash is ok, except for iOS devices which do not allow direct USB connections.

Great Thanks all so now I have a starting point.

Just wonering if I have this attached to the harness do a stil need a Converter ? Or could I use an USB to USB-C and plug into the Android Tablet ?

That cable is Holley proprietary connection cable. Unfortunately Holley does not disclose its protocol, hence it cannot be used with other than Holley software/hardware.

So this is the connector to get ?

and then connect it to this one

And convert USB to USB-C for the tablet ?

Correct. I’m not familiar with Holley wiring connectors, but if you wire ECU CAN L and CAN H into corresponding screw terminals on the adapter, you should be good to go.
