AEM Serial Telemetry currently uses only the default serial telemetry setup. To configure default serial telemetry:
- Open AEMTuner
- Go to ‘Wizards->Setup Wizard’
- Select Wizard type: Telemetry: Serial
- Select AEM Serial Datastream Gauge (02v02 firmware)
- Press ‘Apply’
When setting up the connection in RealDash, use the same baud rate setting specified in AEMTuner:
- ‘Tools->Configure Telemetry->Serial Telemetry…’

Hi! Unfortunately i cant post a topic myself, so iam replying on this one. Iam using a AEM Series 2 (Nissan RB/CA PNP) with v02.02 and i tried to connect via USB-C to RS232 adapter. I checked the ‘How to connect to AEM Serial Telemetry’ and tried that. In the RealDash app i can click on the USB connection, but i dont get any data, also the “Connecting to…” popup is shown on the bottom right.
This is the cable i use (delete the Space): amzn. eu/d/0fUN9jvd
Does anyone know why this behavior occurs?
RS232 adapters typically need to be configured separately for specific baud rate. Wrong adapter baud rate could be your issue.
Thanks for the quick answer! I tired all baud rates and configured them in the app and the ECU.
@realdashdev i found the problem! The adpter cable is not getting enough power (or maybe its faulty) but i tried soldering some other adapters together, and now with a different adapter to USB A and another one to USB-C it works!!!
