Hello,
I’m using an OBD2 device with my Nissan Y62, and there are no mechanical or technical issues with the car itself. However, when I use the software, which acts as an emulator to display multiple screens, I get a “BUS ERROR” message.
The car is running normally, so I believe the issue might be related to the software or its configuration. Has anyone encountered a similar problem or knows how to resolve this error?
I would appreciate any help or guidance.
Don’t understand this part, please be more specific.
I’m facing the same exact issue, I’d really love a solution here soon cause I’ve submitted many threads about this and have yet to get a reply, so hopefully there’s something done here.
I have the same exact issue, I’d like a resolve for this soon cause I’ve been waiting!
Note: I have an ELM 327 which is supported by my car and the app, and I’ve tried manually switching to “ ISO 15765-4 (11 bit, 500 kbaud)” which is used by my car, and I’ve tried automatic and none have seemed to work. Checking PID support is always refreshing
I have the same issue with my Land cruiser 2001 i bought an vgate 4.0 BLE and connected and download the software and updated everything i added the connection it just keep saying unable to connect and Checking PID Support so how can i solve this?
The BUS INIT ERROR comes from your OBD2 adapter. That is typically when wrong protocol is used, or automatic protocol detection fails.
UNABLE TO CONNECT comes from OBD2 adapter when there is no communication between adapter and vehicle.
Why these happen on your vehicles, I do not know. Some vehicles require special initialization (or header) to be set before they start communicating with adapter. By default, RealDash uses just SAE-standard PIDs without any special commands. You can see what AT commands and PIDs RealDash sends to the adapter from this file:

We have no access to vehicle specific OBD2 commands or headers. Testing on all vehicles is not a viable option. And honestly, I don’t believe OBD2 will ever work perfectly with all vehicles no matter what we do.
