Hi
Is it possible to use Real Dash for video playback ? Fex the recorded video inluding rest of the screen with values?
Now I have a dash with camera connected and I see the camera on the dash, if I start the logger, can I play the screen back words and use it for data analyzing including lap times for track use? If possible how to set this up ?
Thanks in advance.
Regards
Mende
Iām sorry, I do not fully understand what you mean. Could be a language barrier.
I mean video with data overlays.
On Real dash its possible to add a video guage, can the video be recodred together with the data from the sensors? Basically I want to see the recorded video from f.ex. a track day and at the same time see the data from rpm, boost and so on the recorded video, does it give any meaning ?
Yes, you can build a dashboard with video feed on the background, and then use āStart Screen Captureā action to start recording the entire screen to video.
Yes that works :-)⦠Thanks, I will be very happy for this feature thats for sure.
I want to add an external GPS antenna for measuring speed, how do I connect it to the tablet?
I see you have already a lot of track added, I just cant realize how to implement a ālaptimerā to my dash ? Maybe also a plottet track ? Or is it just too much
.
Any NMEA compatible external GPS module should work just fine.
RealDash has a Lap Timer, search for lap timer in the inputs.
Plotted track is not supported, unfortunately. If we would find a source of 3D models of the tracks, that could be done.
Not exactly sure how to configure an external GPS module !
In units and values source is āGPS SPEEDā Iām just not sure Iām connected to the GPS module, how do I check I have connection to the gps antenna?
Could you help with an explanation how to do it?
Create a new connection to your GPS module and you should be all good to go. There also should be a āGPS Connectedā input to verify that your GPS module is sending location information.
OK I found function GPS connected, it always stay at 1 no matter I disconnect the GPS module.
@Mende another option would be to record the video and also capture the datalog. Make a button to start recording video and yo start capturing data log. Same to end it. Only issue is that I canāt confirm if thereās an option to play data log file at the same time you play video.
Yes thats a good idea, I will try that.
Any suggestion to a good quality camera that can work with an android tablet? Bleutooth or USB !
