Problem connecting to Maxx ecu sport with cable

I installed a real dash app on BMW android device
I want to connect it with usb to maxx ecu sport
I set it to usb/serial in the settings, but it doesn’t seem to recognize the cable.

This is a problem that I have been trying to actively solve but have been unable.

To make matters worst, the USB-serial is not part of Android OS, but all manufacturers make their own implementations. MaxxECU uses non-standard serial baud rate on USB connection and it seems like some newer Android devices just will not work properly. For example:

MaxxECU USB Works:

  • Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2016), Android 8.1.0
  • Nokia X20, Android 13
  • Samsung Galaxy Tab S6, Android 12
  • Huawei BG2-WD9. Android 6.0 (ultra low spec device)

Data stream stops intermittently:

  • Samsung Galaxy Tab A8, Android 13

As said, I do not have solution for this. The data stream just stops and timeouts without any error from the system. Sometimes you get one frame of data but most of the times it stops in middle of first frame. On same Android device other USB connections seem to work fine.
