look at the top bar when you swipe down, should be a power button icon which you can click to for option. Should give you shut down or restart. Upon clicking restart it’ll give you system restart or restart to recovery.
edit to power down, i mean you can shut it off like this but would have to manually turn it back on each time. Currently I’m testing it where I’m leaving it always on in the car but simply turning off the display.
Duh…brain is still in PC mode. Found it.
Any issues so far?
Currently I only notice that RealDash will close on me randomly. At first frequently and then randomly with hours in between. I’m using a 4gb model which is the same RAM amount as my tablet so i can’t figure out why.
Looks like I’m there
Just installing Realdash.
Hope fully thats it now !
You are a star. Thankyou very much!
Seems easy now I’ve done it all once
It is easy, tbh i don’t like how he did his guide especially with the file downloads. But hey, he gave us a free modified lineage OS so I won’t overly complain on it. It’s been working great with me.
But I’m still new to Raspberry Pi. Trying to see if there’s a cheap way to get GPS and also mobile data if possible. Don’t really know how the hardware works.
I’m doing a fairly complicated car build and will need to add stuff via hardware I am sure. main stage is linking to a Speeduino which should be easy enough. Thanks again
Well if you figure how to do extra hardware out please let me know.
Currently I’m looking for screens to fit my dash nicer.
So far the pi is working and is hardwired so it’s constatly on. I don’t know how I’ll turn on and off the screen on other screen models.
Eventually I want to dip my feet into canbus to pull information from there. My radio somehow does and it can tell me when a door opens and such.
Im starting from scratch with the Speeduino so the comms is pretty easy to set up with Realdash via serial. I have other car elements I want to add to the serial bus so will need some hardware for that. I will start to look at GPS options.
Build Raspberry Pi GPS location/navigation device
Looks easy enough. SiImilar to a bike build I did.
Right now I’m using the fuse tab that I put together. I never read anyone do it online the same way I did but it’s been working to power the device.
I’m concerned about the GPS you posted as I’m trying to avoid battery packs and batteries in general.
That’s why I’m trying to get rid of my tablet for raspberry pi so it’s batteryless.
Also I know a pi can split screen like any other computer but would that work while running the Android system?
I haven’t had the chance to try that yet.
