Read NMEA for boat project

I would like to be able to use RealDash in my boat, hence need capability for reading NMEA 0183 sentences received on my serial port.
Direct reading of serial data is requested, or help converting serial comma-separated-strings starting with “$$”.

RealDash supports external GPS modules which send the GPS in NMEA text form. It may work already, just give it a go.
