Hello. I have RD v2.3.9 running in an old Samsung tablet (Galaxy Tab3 SM-T210 - 1GB RAM - 8GB ROM). I would like to run newer versions on it: I have installed all 2.4.x versions on it without installation issues, but when I run the application, I always get the message “Unfortunately, RealDash has stopped.”
I have moved the app to an external SD, increased the RAM with a virtual memory swapper, rooted the tablet, … But nothing works: it seems that changes from version 2.3 to 2.4 makes the application crash.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
I went to see crashes on the Play store for Android 4.4.X and found no crashes logged by the Google.
Unfortunately we do not test on such old Android devices anymore. And without crash logs from Google, its impossible to say what could be wrong. It could be amount of memory. RealDash can take about 600Mb of RAM on default dashboard and maybe 1Gb is just not enough.
I also think the problem may be the amount of RAM, that’s why I tried using virtual memory, but I had no success.
May be the easiest way to check it is using a default dashbord with only one text gauge, but I don´t know how can I say RD to use it as the default dashboard after a fresh installation.
Unfortunately its not possible to change the default dashboard externally.
My guess for the crash is some Google services that are outdated, like In app purchase systems etc. Have you tried the ‘Google Free’ version from My RealDash (my.realdash.net).
RD v2.4.7 downloaded, installed and running smoothly without errors. Virtual memory manager not needed.
Thanks a lot: you are a magician…
