Serial USB connection issue

Hi I am having a bit of an issue which I hope you can help with.

I have an ME360 ecu which connects just fine via the serial to USB cable however I am now trying to move over to Bluetooth.

I have an Irxon bt578 v3 serial to Bluetooth adaptor which after some time I managed to change the BAUD rate to 115200 which i think is correct. The issue I am having is that realdash keeps cycling the connection so I cant get it to work.

Any ideas on what I need to do?

Cheers

Hard to say, but you could send us a debug log for analysis:

thanks I will look into that tomorrow and send it over.

Cheers

Ive now sent a debug fill over to you.

Many thanks

I think i may have found the issue.

My latest gen ecu outputs at Baud 230400, higher than the adapter capabilities.

Ive ordered another adapter and will try again when it arrives

Unfortunately even with the correct baud rate it still looks the connection over and over and no data coming through

Hi i sent one but got no reply?

I can send another

Just sent you a new file

I’m sorry, I missed that. Will take a look now.

No worries, ive just sent a new file with everything set correctly as far as I can see. also tried it without the BLE mode. Just keeps looping the connection

I see from the log that RealDash has made 17 successful connections, sent initialisation and then receives nothing from the ECU and timeouts.

This indicates that adapter is not configured properly or your current baud rate is not actually right one for your ECU.

You would think that but everything is setup correctly and double checked.

Its working fine with the cable mind you.

The adapter is configure to 230400.

What else could be wrong?

I do not know, log file indicates that connection is made but ECU is not responding.

I think I will have to give up on it. ive tried both the BAUD rates listed for their ECUs yet we can get it to communicate through the adapter - I can only think that there is a difference to how the ports are wired but then that doesnt explain how it works with a serial to usb cable

Can you use that adapter with Meite PC software?

I was going to try but I would have needed to assign the operator to a virtual com port and as it was only realdash i wanted to use it for, i will admit defeat i think.

I think I might have been going about it the wrong way.

I was using a serial to bluetooth adapter.

The original cable is serial FDTI to usb which from my reading is a different protocol. Would I be correct?

For me, it looks like your adapter is “working” as it is connecting to your ECU, but it has somehow incorrect configuration as RealDash is unable to read data from it. But honestly, not sure :expressionless_face:

Ive tried 3 adapters with every conceivable configuration both with the BAUD rate and pin wiring, with and without Glow control, with and without BLE, TX/RX swapped over etc - not a single thing has worked so for whatever reason, the ecu doesnt seem to want to pass data through it.
