Speeduino, vss not working

Got speeduino to connect to realdash through serial 3 using ch340 based wired adapter. Everything works but i have no vss, i dont know if the issue is with speeduino or realdash or fw (202305). Id like to get RD working cause i dont have a speedometer in my car rn and am tired of using phone gps :D.

To my knowledge, serial3 does not output vss (at least the built-in serial3 ini does not have that). Speeduino has been problematic, as we have no device to test on, just fixing blindly :frowning:

would this work? prob gonna try today

It worked. :tada: For everyone who has the same issue try this.

You dont need the actual I/O shield to put on top, the firmware runs straight off a bare arduino mega.

Is there a way to change what value the gear calculator uses for speed? Because my vss is now coming in as status.canin[5] and gear gauge uses just vss. Or one solution would be to make my own gauge if possible? Any help is welcome.

Gear calculation is done from speed source set on ā€˜Settings->Units & Valuesā€™.

You can also set custom speed source from ā€˜Settings->Units & Values->Input Mappingā€™. Set that Vehicle Speed is from your custom value.

Hello, I have Speeduino connected to RealDash via serial 3, everything works except speed.
RealDash v2.4.0
Speeduino 202402.1
TunerStudio v3.2.03
In TunerStudio vehicle speed works correctly, but in RealDash I have no reading, the speed reading is taken from input/input engine ECU/vehicle speed.
The aforementioned solution of modifying the cancomms.ino file cannot be implemented, I cannot find the file in the latest firmware version (202402.1)

Try the debug data view to analyze what values are actually coming in from the speeduino. To access debug data view, go to ā€˜Settings->Application->Debugā€™

I am using a pl2303 adapter.
The adapter connected to pins 14 and 15, and the RealDash in serial 3, connects and receives data, in the digital inputs values ā€‹ā€‹out of range 1 logic = 2500, it can be used for an indicator but I do not have speed signals
The adapter connected to pins 14 and 15, and the RealDash on serial 1, does not connect.
The adapter connected to pins 0 and 1, and the RealDash on serial 3, connects but the indicators go crazy.
The adapter connected to pins 14 and 15, and the RealDash in serial 1, connects and works perfectly.
I would like to use the adapter connected to pins 14 and 15, and the RealDash in serial 3, so that the native Arduino USB is available and I can connect the TunerStudio to make adjustments without disconnecting RealDash.

I think that would require firmware changes to the Speeduino.

I understand it is already configured in the Speeduino firmware, even in TunerStudio.
