Suitability for my project?

There is a lot of information on here to suggest that this would be suitable for my project but I am here to ask for confirmation if thats cool.
First if ive posted in the wrong place please shuffle me of to the appropriate corner with my apologies…
Secondly, and the heart of the query; I’m looking at alternatives to the haltech dash setup (I’d rather spend on the build if I can), and am rather taken with using a 10" wide screen and trying to recreate the look of the original dash as much as is feasible.
The project in question is a toyota soarer running a haltech s3, this means the original dash is unlikely to work as the signal is from the original ecu which also functions to control the autobox (which is also being binned). The new signal source will be from the undriven wheels.
So assuming I use a Pi4 with a CANhat and a CAN usb decoder tied to an appropriate screen, would realdash be suitable for the appliction, can I create a dash skin that looks similar to the 93 digital dash, and, assuming yes to those, does it require a subscription to use/do?
Thanks in advance.

If you do not want especially play around with hardware, I’d recommend that you get an Android device with RealDash supported USB CAN adapter. Easiest path to get started.

I think I have seen Haltech style dashboards in My RealDash community dashboards section. Its also pretty easy dash to make by yourself.

Subscription is not required, you just have to stomach the nagging screens and unavailable features.

Less worried over building a pi (although i realised i put canhat and can usb instead of or), more about the software side of things… its double checking that what I assume is possible is indeed possible.
Thanks for the response, I’ll download a pi version of android and have a play when i get to that stage.
