So how do I correct the issue? The forum link seems to indicate removing the device, but I have no devices showing and I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling, as well as deleting the /home/[username]/.local/share/realdash folder, are there other files that need to be removed to try again?
I believe you just need to enter correct email and password. Just in case, do not use copy-paste while entering credentials to make sure that there is no extra spaces or anything.
I figured out the problem! It turns out that my.realdash.net is ok with spaces in passwords, but the RealDash app fails to parse them properly, my password was a multi-word phrase with spaces, switching the spaces for hyphens solved the issue and I can login now.
Hi.
I have problem.
I have 8 input HAT on the raspberry pi 5 for 12v inputs for turnsignals etc. and i try to make them signal to gpio outs with node red and also tried to use python, the HAT uses I2C connection to raspberry. I got it worked one day but the signals was inverted. Did see that as big problem and go to sleep.
Next day i tried to continue my project then started real problems.
After many hours… and day.
This is whitout any coding on raspberry and its clean install OS.
Only realdash installed and HAT mounted.
I open realdash and none of gpio are yet configured , then i open terminal to check the I2C connection by typing i2cdetect -y 1 , everything is OK.
Then if i chose any gpio out or in and after that if i check the i2cdetect -y 1 , i just see ------- .
Realdash gpio pick is somehow braking the I2C connection…
Can someone help me .
I am trying to install RD on Ubuntu 24.04, which is using libssl3. Apparently libssl1.1 is not possible, therefore I can’t install RD on 24.04. Ubuntu 20.04 used libssl1.1? So does that mean it’s just not possible to install RD on any version of Ubuntu higher than 20.04? Wish I’d known that…
Should get you there. Note that I removed the libssl1.1 from dependency install list.
For next release, I will remove the libssl dependency completely from install package, then we should be able to install RealDash deb with apt install- which will automatically install all dependencies.
I just want to say im new here, new to Pi and linux…
I first ran into the above “You do get an error during installation about libssl1.1”
I tried the fix but then realised i didnt know the password to install for my system…
I did a fresh re install to SD card Of Rasbery Pi OS 32bit. For my Pi 4B
I ran sudo apt update
Sudo apt upgrade
sudo apt update again… Changed to the new disp[lay option that comes up
Downloaded the latest RD version for ARM.
Installed and launched from Menu-Graphics-Real Dash.
Works pretty good, havent gone much further then connection via OBD using BT over ELM327 but did notice a good few seconds worth of lag… But this is default settings.
I got 2.4.9 to install on Raspberry Pi OS 64-bit on a RPI5. It said realdash was installed but nothing would happen when I clicked it, and typing “realdash” into the command prompt said error “libssl.so.1.1: cannot open shared object file”. I found this code that fixed it “sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install libssl1.1” and then Real Dash fired up for the first time!
Next will be getting it to talk to my EMU Black and outputting to two screens. Thanks for all the help and posts from everyone, and what you’re doing realdashdev!
Is there a way to unlock multi cast on linux without a subscription? I have purchased for windows already. I dont mind having to buy another license, but dont really want a sub.
